If I want to add a new item to my grocery project, I have to do it twice. This does have some limitations because if you want to make changes to one and have it in the other you have to make the changes in both insurances. Things handles this pretty well because it keeps the current instance separate from the repeating. I do not want to remember to reset the Deferred date before completing it. If I get something that comes up today but I can't handle it today, I want to defer it however, I want it to come up again next week on the same day and. My biggest complaint about OmniFocus is in how it handles repeating actions. Things UI is great looking but you are right. I have a nagging feeling that my little flirtation with things is over when OmniFocus 3 comes out. I have been using Things 3 for about a month and OmniFocus for 7 years. So I guess what I am getting at is that while any UI or system may work with minimal/optimal content the test must be in how well it scales when pushed beyond what looks nice in the screenshots used to sell the app, and this is where OmniFocus comes into its own and is probably unrivalled. Like most I am easily seduced by the new and shiny, but when it comes down to it OF works, and for a lot of content I think the UI is well thought out, the developers have I think looked beyond the obvious.
My issue with Things 3 is while it looks nice, and maybe ideal for simple needs (I love the checklist inside tasks idea, borrowed from Trello I would guess) when I tried to add significant numbers of projects in Things 3 Mac trial, it started to fall to pieces. However I just doubt either or Things 3 could handle the number of projects I currently have. I liked the collaboration feature in ToDoist delegating (dumping) tasks off to my partner, and 2Do had great saved search capabilities. I tried Todoist for about a year, but never threw as much into it, I flirted with 2Do for a while but neither stuck.

So I am running over 80 “projects or lists” Now OF on an iPad Pro handles this load with aplomb, search is instant, my perspectives give me a window into what I need to do when I need to do it, and what I need done or to check, and most importantly I simply trust it.

This currently runs at over 60 clients, plus current design projects, admin tasks, marketing tasks etc.
I have a lot of projects, each client we look after has a single action list project, it may only contain a domain name renewal reminder task or a hosting reminder letter prompt but it may also hold any current support tasks or waiting responses. Subjective I know but I hear a lot of negatives and very few positives, and a lot of praise for the Things 3 design, but for me OF works well.
